Standard crossbars mount cargo. The DualTrack-T™ MAX mounts systems. The distinction matters when you're trying to run a light bar, an awning mount, a Starlink, and a recovery board carrier on the same set of crossbars — and you want each one positioned exactly where you need it, not where a generic clamp will allow.
The standard DualTrack™ ($549 for 4-bar) integrates dual-row L-Track into every crossbar — ideal for DVA accessories and L-Track sliders. The DualTrack-T™ MAX ($799 for 4-bar) adds a second channel: 25mm T-Slot running the full length of each bar alongside the L-Track. That second channel accepts off-the-shelf T-slot hardware from any industrial or outdoor supplier — no DVA-specific adapters required. Choose DualTrack-T™ MAX if you're running accessories from multiple brands or building a configuration that requires T-slot compatibility.
The Two-Channel System: What L-Track and T-Slot Each Do
The DualTrack-T™ MAX is built on 6061-T6 extruded aluminum — the same alloy as the standard DualTrack. What changes is the extrusion profile. Each bar contains two full-length channels machined into a single piece of aluminum: one L-Track channel and one 25mm T-Slot channel. No adapter plates, no secondary rails bolted to the bar.
L-Track: The DVA Ecosystem Channel
L-Track (also called airline track) is the mounting standard used in cargo aircraft and cargo vans. DVA's entire accessory ecosystem — awning mounts, recovery board carriers, the Starlink Mini roof mount, the LED side light brackets — is built around L-Track sliders. A slider drops into the channel and locks with a quarter-turn; positioning is continuously adjustable along the full bar length. Load rating and engagement geometry are consistent regardless of where you position the slider.
Existing DualTrack™ owners already use this system. The L-Track channel in the DualTrack-T™ MAX is identical — same width, same slider hardware, same accessories.
25mm T-Slot: The Universal Channel
25mm T-Slot is the most common dimensional standard in industrial mounting, CNC fixturing, and aftermarket overland rigs. Thule's roof rack crossbars use T-slot channels for accessories. Rhino-Rack does too. Most commercial tent brackets, bike carrier inserts, and light mounts designed for roof crossbars specify "fits 25mm or 28mm T-slot" — not L-Track.
This is the gap the DualTrack-T™ MAX closes. An owner on The Grenadier Forum's rooftop tent thread described the problem directly: "Need some kind of tent box brackets for the T slots. Does anyone have any suggestions." That owner was running OEM Rhino Rack bars which have T-slot channels — but wanted the low-profile DVA mounting position. The DualTrack-T™ MAX solves that: factory bolt-on position, 1" profile height, and full T-slot compatibility for any tent bracket, light clamp, or Thule accessory that specifies 25mm T-slot.

DualTrack™ vs DualTrack-T™ MAX — Side-by-Side
| Feature | Standard DualTrack™ | DualTrack-T™ MAX |
|---|---|---|
| Mounting channels | Dual-row L-Track only | L-Track + 25mm T-Slot (both in every bar) |
| Material | 6061-T6 extruded aluminum | 6061-T6 extruded aluminum |
| Profile height | ~1" above roofline | ~1" above roofline |
| Mount system | Factory bolt-on (no drilling) | Factory bolt-on (no drilling) |
| DVA accessory compatibility | Full — all L-Track sliders work | Full — same L-Track channel, same sliders |
| Third-party T-slot accessories | Not compatible (no T-slot channel) | Full — 25mm T-slot accepts Thule, Rhino, tent brackets, etc. |
| Wind noise | Very quiet at highway speed | Very quiet at highway speed |
| Kit pricing | 2-bar $299 · 4-bar $549 | 2-bar $449 · 4-bar $799 |
| Best for | DVA-only accessory builds | Mixed-brand builds, tent brackets, T-slot accessories |
The two systems share the same mount geometry, the same factory bolt-on installation, and the same ~1" profile height that keeps you under a standard 7-foot garage door. The only structural difference is the extrusion profile — one channel versus two.
What Owners Actually Mount with This System
The combination of L-Track and T-Slot in a single bar handles most Grenadier roof builds without secondary rails or adapter brackets:
L-Track Side (DVA Ecosystem)
- You anticipate using custom-fabricated mounts that require T-slot hardware
Standard DualTrack is enough if:
- Your entire build uses DVA accessories (awning mount, side lights, Starlink, recovery board carrier)
- You're running DVA L-Track sliders for all cargo tie-down points
- Budget matters — the standard DualTrack is $150–$250 less across kit sizes
Both systems mount identically and perform identically in terms of load rating, wind noise, and profile height. The DualTrack-T™ MAX premium covers the T-slot channel and the wider extrusion. If you're sure your build is DVA-only, you don't need it. If there's any chance you'll want T-slot compatibility down the road, the upgrade is worth it at build time — retrofitting a T-slot channel to standard DualTrack bars isn't possible without replacing the bars.
