INEOS Grenadier Crossbars: Complete Guide — OEM vs DualTrack, Fitment & What to Mount

Two crossbar systems exist for the Grenadier: the OEM gutter-clamp bars (198 lb dynamic, unlimited gutter positioning, higher profile) and the DVA DualTrack™ (100–200 lb dynamic depending on kit, factory bolt-on at fixed positions, ~1" profile with integrated dual-row L-Track). Most owners who've run both leave the DualTrack on permanently. Here's exactly how to choose, fit, and load either system.

The INEOS Grenadier has two factory-compatible crossbar systems. The OEM load bar kit clamps to the rain gutter ledge and positions anywhere along the full roofline. The DVA DualTrack™ bolts to the factory roof attachment points in four fixed positions, sits ~1 inch above the roofline, and has dual rows of industry-standard L-Track built into each bar. Pick the wrong one for your use case and you either cap out on load capacity or lose garage clearance. This guide covers both systems in full — fitment, load ratings, accessory compatibility, install process, and which kit to order.

Quick Answer

Daily-driver Grenadier with accessories (Starlink, awning, lights, recovery boards): DVA DualTrack™ 4-bar kit ($599). Factory bolt-on, 200 lb dynamic capacity, dual L-Track on every bar, ~1" profile fits standard 7' garage.

Occasional heavy loads beyond 200 lb dynamic, or need variable crossbar placement: OEM gutter-clamp bars. 198 lb dynamic per 2-bar kit, position anywhere on the gutter, higher profile.

Both: Some owners run both — DualTrack for daily accessories, OEM bars for big-load days. Fully compatible with each other.

The Two Systems: How They Mount and Why It Matters

The fundamental difference between the OEM bars and DualTrack is the mounting interface — and that interface shapes everything downstream: profile height, accessory options, load limits, and positioning flexibility.

The OEM gutter-clamp crossbars use a clamp mechanism that grips the Grenadier's rain gutter ledge — the raised lip that runs along the perimeter of the roofline. Because the gutter runs the full length of the roof, you can place OEM bars anywhere along it, which gives you maximum positioning flexibility. The tradeoff is height: the gutter-clamp design positions each bar above the roofline and raises the effective vehicle height, which can create clearance issues at low garage doors and adds surface area for wind noise at highway speed (especially if bars are mounted forward of the factory roof rail attachment points).

The DVA DualTrack™ takes the opposite approach. Each bar bolts directly to the factory roof rail attachment points — the same threaded inserts INEOS machined into the Grenadier's roof structure for accessory mounting. There are four fixed positions available (front, center-front, center-rear, rear). You can't reposition between these four points, but you gain a ~1" profile height, virtually no wind noise, and a direct structural connection to factory roof hardware — all without a single new hole in the roof.

"The OEM cross bars mount to the roof gutter ledge using a clamp system. Our DualTrack crossbars bolt directly to the factory roof rail attachment points. Fully reversible to stock since no drilling or permanent modification is needed."

DVA Mechanics, The INEOS Forum, thread #12421619, April 2026

One owner who has run both systems on the same Grenadier described the practical difference:

"The DVA are very quiet. They are low profile. The mounting of the racks is easy. The options for connecting loads with the L-Track is great… The OEM are very heavy duty and can be placed at any point on the rain gutters. They can be noisy at speed if mounted forward of the roof bars. Dynamic load is 198 pounds and static of 795 pounds. I use the OEM for large loads. I leave the DVA on all the time."

Fitment: All Grenadier Trims, 2023–Present

Both crossbar systems fit all current INEOS Grenadier variants sold in the US:

  • Grenadier Wagon (5-door, standard and Fieldmaster) — all trim levels
  • Grenadier Quartermaster (double-cab pickup) — confirmed fitment

The DVA DualTrack™ bars are 58.5 inches (149 cm) long and span the full roof width. Both systems are compatible with 2023 and later model years. If you have a specific pre-production or international Grenadier variant, contact DVA before ordering — the factory roof attachment point layout is consistent across current US-spec vehicles.

DualTrack Bar Positions

The Grenadier roof has four factory attachment point locations — front, center-front, center-rear, and rear. A 2-bar DualTrack kit uses front and rear positions. A 4-bar kit uses all four. A 6-bar kit adds additional fixed positions. The 4-bar layout is the most common because it balances load distribution, accessory coverage, and rooftop tent compatibility without over-cluttering the roof.

Load Ratings: Reading the Numbers Correctly

Both systems report two separate load numbers — static and dynamic. Static load is with the vehicle parked. Dynamic load is while driving. For most owners, dynamic load is the number that matters for real-world use.

The OEM gutter-clamp 2-bar kit is rated at 198 lb dynamic / 795 lb static. That's a high static rating — useful if you're loading a heavy gear hauler at camp and leaving it parked. But the 198 lb dynamic ceiling means the same total load applies while driving, which is actually in the same ballpark as the DualTrack 4-bar kit.

The DVA DualTrack™ ratings scale with kit size:

100 lb 2-bar dynamic
200 lb 4-bar dynamic
~1" profile height

The practical implication: a 4-bar DualTrack kit at 200 lb dynamic gives you essentially the same load budget as the OEM 2-bar kit while driving, but with dual L-Track on all four bars and a roofline profile that won't catch a parking garage ceiling. For a rooftop tent (typically 120–160 lb), the 4-bar kit is the right choice — and it's rated for RTT use with verified load distribution across all four mounting points.

One important note: never confuse static and dynamic ratings when sizing a load. A 220 lb RTT that fits under the 400 lb static limit of the 4-bar kit is still over the 200 lb dynamic limit if you plan to drive with it mounted. The dynamic limit applies any time the vehicle is moving.

What You Can Mount on DualTrack L-Track

The dual-row L-Track on each DualTrack bar is industry-standard — the same slot profile used in aircraft cargo systems, professional van builds, and most aftermarket cargo accessories. This means two rows of continuous L-Track per bar, with precise accessory placement anywhere along the rail. No fixed mounting holes, no adapter plates, no compromise on position.

Verified DVA-compatible accessories for the DualTrack system:

  • Starlink Mini mount — DVA's Starlink mini mount uses the L-Track slot directly; no adapters. The DTP power cable (2m, $49.99) routes from the DualTrack-mounted dish directly to the Grenadier's DTP port — no separate inverter or roof penetration needed.
  • Awning brackets — DVA's Awning Mount V2 (set of 2, $69) bolts directly to DualTrack L-Track. Compatible with most standard 270° and straight awnings.
  • Recovery board carriers — DVA and universal L-Track recovery board mounts slot in without adapters.
  • Light mounts — single L-Track stud and sliding bar mounts for auxiliary lighting. Position exactly where you need beam angle, not where a fixed hole allows.
  • Cargo nets and O-rings — standard L-Track D-rings and tie-down anchors for cargo strapping.

If you already own L-Track accessories from a van build or prior rack system, most will work with DualTrack. DVA offers compatibility verification via their support page for specific accessories before you order.

Installation: What the 45–60 Minute Exterior Bolt-On Process Looks Like

The DualTrack install uses the Grenadier's factory exterior roof attachment points. No interior access, headliner removal, or interior trim clip removal is required. Plan for 45–60 minutes with basic hand tools on a first install; experienced hands can do it faster.

The key steps:

  1. Position the DualTrack brackets over the factory roof attachment points at the fixed mounting locations.
  2. Align the bars and brackets from the exterior so the system sits square on the roofline.
  3. Thread and torque hardware to spec using the included stainless steel hardware kit.
  4. Confirm bracket seating and bar alignment before loading accessories.
  5. Retorque mounting hardware after the first off-road cycle. This is a critical step: off-road vibration can settle the hardware and reduce clamping force. Check torque once after the first trail run.

No drilling is required at any point. The factory roof attachment points are threaded inserts that INEOS included for accessory mounting — DualTrack uses them exactly as designed. The install leaves no permanent modifications to the vehicle.

Which Kit to Order: 2-Bar vs 4-Bar vs 6-Bar

The kit size decision comes down to what you plan to mount and whether you need RTT capacity:

Kit Price Dynamic Load Static Load Best For
2-Bar Kit $349 100 lb 200 lb Single accessory run (light bar, Starlink, cargo box); no RTT
4-Bar Kit $599 200 lb 400 lb Multiple accessories, RTT-capable, most popular choice
6-Bar Kit $799 Contact DVA Contact DVA Maximum coverage, full L-Track length across entire roofline

The 4-bar kit is the right choice for most Grenadier builds. It matches the OEM gutter-clamp dynamic load at 200 lb, gives you L-Track on all four bars for flexible accessory positioning, and is rated for rooftop tent use. The 2-bar kit works for single-accessory setups (one Starlink mount, one light bar) where you're not planning to expand. The 6-bar kit provides full-length coverage for heavy modular builds with multiple items mounted simultaneously.

One planning note: start with 4 bars, not 2, if you're even considering a rooftop tent. Adding bars later is possible, but the 4-bar kit at $599 versus two separate 2-bar kit purchases is the more economical path if expansion is at all likely.
