Why the Dual Finish Matters
Anodize First
Anodizing converts the aluminum surface into aluminium oxide — bonded into the metal, not a coating on top. Hard base layer, prepares the surface for powder coat.
Powder Coat Over
Applied over the anodized layer — adds chip resistance, scratch protection, and a UV-stable colour layer. The factory version stops at anodize. This goes further.
Trail-Ready Result
Two finish layers versus one resists stone chips, brush contact, UV exposure, and the door-contact abuse that accumulates on rear door rails over years of trail use.
